Pyrmont Events: Join the Conversation about “The Blogging Revolution” at Gleebooks

Come along and join the conversation about the book “The Blogging Revolution” with Kate Crawford, a cultural commentator, academic and author. This event is being held at Gleebooks in Glebe, just around the corner from Pyrmont Village.

The Blogging Revolution by best-selling author Antony Loewenstein, examines internet censorship in the 21st century and the brave individuals who work to overcome it. Loewenstein’s investigative reporting takes him to parties, internet cafes, homes of dissidents and newspaper offices in China, Cuba, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Damascus and Iran. He finds out the ways in which the internet is threatening the rule of these regressive governments.

Loewenstein also discovers how the multinationals in the West are helping to overcome the restriction of information in these countries, an insight into how bloggers are leading the change, and how we in the West now have an insight into these cultures as a result of the web.
