Pyrmont Event: “Now or Never” by Tim Flannery

timflannery 154x210 Pyrmont Event: Now or Never by Tim FlanneryJoin Professor Tim Flannery to discuss Now or Never, his new quarterly essay which investigates sustainability and how it impacts on today’s environmental threats. Part of the 2008 Sydney Ideas Public Lecture series presented by the University of Sydney, this event will be held in the Seymour Centre in Chippendale.

Come along Pyrmont Village and listen to Tim Flannery discuss 3 possible solutions to the most pressing sustainability challenges: climate change. When it comes to climate change, he argues that Australia has a special responsibility. That our PM could play a critical role globally in Copenhagen in 2009, however only if we take effective and quick action to cut emissions sharply. “Now or Never” is both terrifying and brilliant, and a call to action.

Professor Tim Flannery is a leading writer and thinker on the natural world. He was the Australian of the Year in 2007 and has published many books and scientific papers, as well as chairing the Copenhagen Climate Council.
