Sydney International Boat Show – Darling Harbour 08
One of the great things about living in pyrmont village is walking across pyrmont bridge when the boat show is on, in Darling harbour. What a magnificent sight it truly is, and admittedly one does get an insight into how the other half really live. Makes one very very envious.
The range though is quite bewildering, from luxury yachts to flash tinnies. This year it is being Held from 31 July to 5 August 2008 at Darling Harbour, and it will be the 41st Sydney International Boat Show. The darling harbour based boat show has the largest visitor numbers of any boat show in Australia.
The Show will feature over 300 exhibitors across a massive 6 halls at the Exhibition Centre, as well as over 70 exhibitors and 300 vessels on display at the adjoining Cockle Bay Marina. Come along and check out luxury craft, ranging from sport fishing rigs to runabouts through to multi-million dollar luxury mega yachts.
Plus there will be show activities, including:
- Crossing the Ditch – daily appearances by adventurers Justin Jones and James Castrisson who conquered the Tasman Sea aboard a kayak – the longest trans-oceanic journey in a kayak ever undertaken. Hear give first-hand accounts of their dramatic 2 month journey and see the “actual” kayak that was their home during their epic voyage.
