Sustainable House Day 2008 offers you the opportunity to step inside the homes of people who are reducing their water, waste and energy needs. You can visit houses in the Pyrmont neighbourhood to learn and experience the benefits of sustainable living from people who have already done it. During this event, learn from the home owner’s personal experience and find out how to get by without air-conditioning in Summer but still have a place that stays cool. And keep warm in Winter with little or no heating. There will also be the opportunity to speak to builders, designer and architects and check out the sustainable living tips on display at the open homes.

In 2007, homes close to Pyrmont Village included in Newtown, Chippendale and Paddington. In fact, you could even walk there! 2008 homes open for inspection will be available from 30 August.

The price of a ticket is $5 per house visited and it is free for children. You can buy your ticket at the house and there is no booking required.
